About Me
My name is Hayden Charles, and I am a 14-year-old freshman who will be taking both culinary and business classes next year. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies/TV shows, drawing random designs (anything from cars to axes to houses), playing with my dogs, and most of all, cooking and baking. Those two hobbies are what inspired my goal to graduate with a degree in business management and hopefully start my own restaurant. Lately, with quarantine going on, I have been baking a lot of cookies and brownies. This is what inspired my idea to create this bake shop.
How it Started
As I previously stated, I have been baking a lot because of quarantine. This lead to my literal overnight decision to create a bake shop to raise money for Covid-19 relief. I decided to do this for a couple of reasons:
I was extremely bored and had a lot of extra time
It is a good starting point for my dream of owning a restaurant
and
I would still be doing something I enjoy, so I'll have fun even though it is a mainly educational experience
So, I worked for six weeks to prepare everything including this website, my menu, a couple of online forms, and a (nearly) fully-automated Google Sheets (to calculate my earnings, the amount of the Covid-19 donation, and the prices of any other costs I might have).
The Final Product
So, after weeks of hard work, I am finally ready to boot up the business. And here is what I have decided to do with it:
50% of the net proceeds from the bake shop will go towards the American Red Cross' "Coronavirus Outbreak" fund
